In this new spotlight section I will be focusing on a particular item that may or may not be in the museum already.  I will be focusing these articles primarily on tricks but sometimes it may be a particular story or performer.  Essentially anything I feel might be interesting enough to share.  Hopefully you will agree.

The SS Adams Rocket Mystery was one of several similar type divination effects which were pocket sized and operated on a principle not often used in divination effects.  Packaged in one of the earlier c1940 boxes with the foil labels which contained a tube and 3 colored rods.  When one of the rods was placed in the tube (which was opaque and ungimmicked) by a spectator (performer never sees the color chosen and never glimpses the color during the effect) the performer correctly divines the color.  The effect could be repeated and the pieces were examinable.

Many magical and mental effects were patriotically themed with most occurring in and around WWII although some were earlier during the first world war.  Patriotic Billiard Balls and 20th Century Flag are two other familiar examples of this theme.
