JANOS BARTL VARIETIES

Several varieties of the Bartl coin including gimmicked ones. Janos Bartl was a magic dealer in Germany in the early part of the 20th Century. The style of image was borrowed from the Martinka coins and the SS Adams coins were patterned after the Bartl coins. Clockwise from top left are the MT025 (beveled edge for use with a particular type of coin dropper), the "fat devil" variety of the MT 025, the strange hooked coin type gimmick of the MT025, the thin incused MT026, a gilt coin, another MT025, a soldered hook coin version of the MT027, and the last is a photo of the edge of the coin noting Baumgartner as the designer and/or minter of the coin (I believe this was the edge of the MT027).
